The knapsack(backpack) acts as a symbol for a student's daily work, growth, and the community supporting them. It recognizes the shift from summer to a new school year as an important life transition. Prayers ask for protection, mental clarity, and peace for students facing new challenges or anxieties. The blessing honors not just kids, but also college students, teachers,
bus drivers, and school support staff. And it reminds those starting the school year that their faith community supports them all year long.
Invite family and friends to the service.
